About Casa de Chavez
From Health Crisis to Empowerment
Hi there, I’m Liz! For most of my life, I never questioned the products I brought into my home. Conventional cleaners, personal care products, cookware – if it was on the shelf, it must be safe, right?
Then my health started declining, and everything changed.
I began experiencing health issues that my doctors couldn’t fully explain. As an engineer, I’m trained at problem solving, so I used those skills to approach my health challenges. I dug into research, reading books, articles, watching videos, and listening to podcasts. What I learned was truly eye-opening.
The connection between our environment, nutrition, and health was undeniable. As I started making changes to my nutrition and environment, I noticed real improvements in my health. This gave me confidence that we do have the power to take control of our health.
But here’s what I quickly discovered: striving for a completely “non-toxic” lifestyle was creating more stress than health benefits. The perfectionist approach left me anxious about every product choice. I realized that the stress of trying to be perfect was probably worse for my health than making practical, informed choices that reduced our overall toxic load.
That’s when I decided to embrace “low-tox” living instead. For the last 2 years, this approach has allowed me to significantly reduce chemical exposure in my home while maintaining my health improvements – all without the stress and restrictions that were making me miserable.
As my health improved and my confidence in making these decisions grew, I realized something important: the skills I’d developed to evaluate products and make informed choices were something every person deserved to have.
That’s why I started Casa de Chavez. It’s the resource I wish I had when I was going through my health journey and desperately wanted to learn how to take control – but didn’t know where to start or who to trust.
