Stop Guessing. Start Evaluating.

An engineer’s frameworks for figuring out what’s actually in the products in your home — without the fear-mongering, without the perfectionism, and without anyone telling you what to buy.

Liz Chavez, founder of Casa de Chavez and creator of the CLEAR Method

Engineer turned low-tox educator. Creator of the CLEAR Method™ and STOP Method™ for evaluating product safety.

Don’t Trust Me. Trust Yourself.

The low-tox space is full of people telling you what to buy. This isn’t that. Casa de Chavez teaches you how to evaluate products the way an engineer would — so the next time you stand in a store aisle, you don’t need me. You have your own systematic way to decide.

Six places to start.

Hi, I’m Liz.

I’m an electrical engineer. I spent a decade in robotics before an autoimmune diagnosis pushed me to question everything in my home — the cleaning products, the personal care, the cookware, the air, all of it.

What I found wasn’t reassuring. The “low-tox” space online was full of fear-based marketing and influencer recommendations I was supposed to take on faith. Neither worked for someone trained to evaluate evidence.

So I built my own approach. The CLEAR Method™ and STOP Method™ are the frameworks I use to evaluate every product in my home. Casa de Chavez is where I teach them — not so you’ll trust me, but so you won’t have to.
